Focus, vision and practical choices of “CircleLetter”

“CircleLetter” is an e-mail and website newsletter containing a concise and sharp selection of news, views and reflections. It's main focus is the “Rainbow Family of Living Light”: a growing international, informal network of women and men coming together from different backgrounds, cultures and religions in order to look for ways of life in harmony with Nature, Mother Earth and mankind. “CircleLetter” also sheds its light at related issues, like alterglobalism, alternative, autonomous and sustainable life styles, intentional communities, community life, spirituality, yoga and meditation.

At present, “CircleLetter” is being issued in The Netherlands. However, a growing number of sisters and brothers cooperate to this project from other parts of the world. The geographical focus of CircleLetter is any country in the world from which we get useful information and visions.

In a harsh reality, full of injustice, civil wars, inter-ethnic tensions, climate change, and many other problems caused by mankind, there are also some blessings in disguise. The mental climate seems to be changing too - in spite of all the negativity the mass media bombards us with every day. Good sides of the spirit of the sixties and seventies seem to be returning in a present day look. It is relief to see upcoming again a growing environmental consciousness. Moreover, a feeling of harmony with mother earth is being accompanied by a growing sense of community and social engagement. In different editions of CircleLetter, we provide you with encouraging examples.

“CircleLetter” is not an 'objective' newsletter; in our opinion,'objectivity' does not exist. It contains only the subjective views of authors writing in it. It is an e-mail newsletter in a simple text format, without HTML or attachments. Flyers, drawings, etc. can be downloaded from this website.

From practical point of view, we make also clear choices:

  • simple, short and concise e-mail editions

  • reflective approach

  • no route directions on this website.

CircleLetter” appears irregularly – about 1 to 4 times per month, so not more than once a week. Every e-mail edition contains from now on only 1 page A4. As a matter of consequence, “CircleLetter” does not immediately react to new developments; we prefer to be a bit more balanced, reflective and concise.

In the Rainbow Family, there is no consensus allowing to publish directions to gatherings at websites. That's why, we prefer to publish them at autoresponders who are available to those who have been subscribed to the e-mail edition of CircleLetter.

At this moment, it is not possible to disseminate route and location information to gatherings, because the old autoresponders we have been using in the spring and summer, are not available any more. Another brother is helping us to create new 'autoresponders': e-mail addresses meant to help to find your way to gatherings. If you mail to a 'autoresponder', you get an answer automatically and quickly. We try to make such autoresponders available as soon as possible. If you need route directions to a specific gathering, before the autoresponders will work again, contact us via our provisional contact address: circleletter-owner(at)rainbowinfo(dot)net

Information and views on the Rainbow Family.

What is “Rainbow” and what are lessons learnt from recent gatherings? At VisionCircle, a new part of this site, we are making a selection of views and visions on these questions. So, if you are interested in the fundamental discussions and reflections on the Rainbow family, keep a watchful eye there from time to time. However: if you would like to develop a clear view on the Rainbow Family, never rely on CircleLetter only! Like every other website, e-mail, newsletter or booklet on the Rainbow Family, CircleLetter only contains personal visions of the sisters and brothers writing in it. There is no group or individual who has the right to speak on behalf of the Rainbow Family as a whole. If you want to get a more clear picture of the Rainbow Family, it is advisable to consult more websites and newsletters.

You can find general info on the Rainbow Family via, by example:
